The Bethel Musculoskeletal Research Center’s BioBank is dedicated to accelerating the discovery of biomarkers and therapeutic targets, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes through personalized orthopaedic medicine. The BMRC BioBank is currently working with one nationally known biotechnology company to provide samples for research and is in talks with three more. As of March 20026, the BioBank has:
- 326 participants enrolled
- 13,665 total specimens
- 192 participants in the electronic medical record (demographic data, diagnoses, lab results, medications, surgeries, and visit notes)
- Samples of tissues from the spine, joints, hand, and foot
- Patients ranging in age from 30 to more than 80 years old, evenly divided between female and male
Over the past year, BMRC has laid meaningful groundwork for sustained growth in musculoskeletal research. The center remains committed to fostering a vibrant, collaborative environment that accelerates innovation in musculoskeletal science. With continued investment in our trainees, partnerships, and research infrastructure, we are poised to expand our impact even further in the coming year.
